Tonight on Survivor: Redemption Island, we begin on Night 13 at Redemption Island (RI) as Krista arrives. She tells Matt how awful her tribe, Zapatera is and to never trust them. Matt is not sure who he can trust from his old tribe, Omepete, either.
Day 14 and poor Stephanie feels all alone at Zapatera. Steve is unhappy that she and Krista cast votes against him. Like who were they supposed to vote for, dummy? Each other? I tell you, this bunch are as dense as posts. ?You blocks! You stones! You worse than senseless things! O you hard hearts, you cruel men of Rome! Knew you not Pompey?? Anyway, getting back to the idiot Steve, he asks Stephanie why he was their target? Steph answers that because he?s old, slow and injured.
Over at Ometepe, the girls decide to squeeze a ?spa day? in between their ?beach days?. Phillip is not happy about how lazy Ashley and Natalie are. He assigns them the task of tending the camp fire. They generally ignore him, and for good reason. He?s another idiot. I?m not sure if Steve can top Phillip in the stupid department, but given the chance he might give him a good run for the title, unless they both face Ralph, who doesn?t even know his left from his right! What they need is prayer, which there is an abundance of at Redemption Island as Krista receives her luxury item, her Bible. Matt is ecstatic and they spend time before the duel praying together.
Speaking of which, it?s time for the duel. Andrea and Natalie witness for Ometepe while Julie and Mike watch for Zapatera. The object is to use a grappling hook and rope to reel in three bags, one of which holds a ball. No, it?s not a magic ball but it is to be used on a tilting table maze. Matt struggles with his aim a bit while Krista goes three-for-three. She builds a considerable lead on the table maze. Matt catches up soon and then Krista makes a bad move. Her ball falls through a trap-hole and she has to start over from the beginning. Matt wins easily, again! But Krista is very gracious about it. In fact, she gives Matt her Bible! Matt is in?well?heaven!
Day 15 at Zapatera finds Sarita with a toothache. She was picking around at a back molar with a dirty stick and stabbed her gums. Now she moans about her tooth hurting and how she?s getting infected and how her face is swelling up. Probably the only thing swelling is her imagination. David wants her gone and talks with Stephanie, advising her to make amends and suck up to the others. This may be her last chance to stick around.
Back at Ometepe, Phillip is worried about bad weather rolling in. He orders the girls to help him gather firewood. They refuse and rebel. Rob and Grant intervene. They don?t understand Phillip at all, like anybody could. Why does he expect two hot, young 20-year old girls to do any physical labor? Phillip has had enough and unloads verbally on Ashley and Natalie. Rob tries to calm him down, preaching team unity. Over at Zapatera, Stephanie apologizes to Steve and tries to plant a seed that she would be better to keep around than Sarita. Steve seems open to the idea.
Day 16 and it?s time for the Immunity Challenge. Today?s event is Bungie-Lacrosse. Stephanie and David launch balls with a bungie-slingshot for Zapatera while Phillip and Natalie do likewise for Ometepe. The others pair up to catch the balls with Lacrosse net-sticks. Sarita sits this one out. The reward is a picnic lunch at a local landmark. This challenge was sad indeed as Ometepe creams Zapatera five-zip! Without old Russell around, Zapatera is falling apart at the seams.
The victors picnic at some park at the foot of a giant Jesus statue. Rob notices the next idol clue but allows Grant to ?find? it. They sneak off to read it but get busted by Phillip. He plays it cool with his ?allies? but is pretty riled about them hiding secrets from him.
At Zapatera, Sarita suspects that David and Stephanie are plotting against her. NO KIDDING! DUH! Steph talks with Julie who is non-committed to anything said. Julie later joins ?The Men?, who discuss whom to boot tonight. Julie says she agrees that Stephanie works harder and is better at challenges than Sarita, but she trusts Sarita more. David says the time for trusting has passed, they need to start winning! Charlie Sheen would agree with him! WINNING! That?s all that matters now!
At Tribal Council, David repeats his line of logic. But he forgets that his tribe are a bunch of idiots. Stephanie and Sarita spar back and forth, making the council somewhat amusing for about 10 seconds. David makes one last appeal, trust be damn, they need to win! But the vote goes the way we expect. It?s 5-2 against Stephanie. Boo-Hoo! As Jeff snuffs out her torch, he questions the tribes intelligence. As we do Jeff, as do we!
Next week on Survivor: Redemption Island, Jeff Probst tells us that mental fatigue is setting in on both tribes. We are treated to scenes of Rob and Ralph acting foolishly. Phillip, of course, is paranoid and annoying. Wait! Are we sure this wasn?t this week? Ha-Ha-Ha!
