When we last left our favorite racers we had just said good-bye to Jaime and Cara. Now it is a whole new leg of the race and the remaining eight are all fighting to stay alive.
Things kicked off in Kunming, China, man they have spent a lot of time in China huh. The remaining teams include Kent and Vyxsin, Gary and Mallory, Flight Time and Big Easy, Jet and Cord, Kisha and Jennifer, Margie and Luke, Ron and Christina and Zev and Justin. The first team to take off is Jet and Cord they are headed to a tea shop where they will take part in a tea tasting, they are followed by Gary and Mallory and Margie and Luke. However the father/daughter team finds the shop first, finish the task, then receive a clue as well as a brick of tea. They learn they must fly to Kolkata, India and make their way to town hall to find the next clue. Kisha and Jen are the next team headed to the tea shop followed by Kent and Vyxsin, Flight Time and Big Easy, Ron and Christina and Zev and Justin bringing up the rear.
All teams end up on the same flight to India which means it is any ones race so to speak. It is a race through the crowd for taxis and to get to town hall. India is crazy crowded and the driving is insane making the teams a little more than nervous. Once at the town hall all the teams learn they have to wait until 10:00am before it opens, looks like everyone is camping out together. But not before the Globetrotters play a little joke on some of the teams sending them running to a clue box that doesn?t exist.
In the morning teams learns it is roadblock time. The task consists of participating in the ancient Indian tradition of tea tasting. One team member will get one papaya, one mango and their brick from China and take it to the tea auctioneer who will infuse the flavors together. Once that is done the team member must find the exact same tea they had in the shop in China among hundreds of little tea tasting cups in order to get their next clue, which they must figure out is on the cap of a Snapple tea bottle. Kent, Mallory, Luke, Flight Time, Kisha, Ron, Jet and Zev are the lucky competitors. Ron is the first one done and he and his daughter learn they must go head to a tea stall to find their next clue. Jet was next so he and Cord are also headed to the next clue. Kisha was next but she and Jen do not realize the clue is under the cap and head in a cab to where they believe Snapple tea is made. Kent finishes next followed by Mallory and Zev.
Kent and Vyxsin are the first to arrive at the tea stall because Ron and Christina, Jet and Cord and Kisha and Jennifer all had problems with taxi cab drivers taking them to the incorrect location. It is detour time! Teams can choose Hindu Art where they must paint and dress a statue like a certain Hindu god. Once their finish product is as good as the example provided for them they will get their next clue. In Bengali Literature teams must get eight stacks of schoolbooks plus themselves inside a rickshaw bus and direct their driver through the crazy streets to a specified school. Once the books are delivered to the headmistress they will get their next clue. The Goths decide to do the art task. Gary and Mallory arrive next and choose Literature.
All of this happens while Kisha and Jen still can?t figure out the clue. Finally they open the bottle and realize the clue is in the cap, duh! Ron and Christina who finished the roadblock first arrive at the detour and choose art, as does Kisha and Jen. The cowboys have yet to make it to the tea stall. Back at the roadblock Flight Time and Luke grow frustrated, losing steam.
Mallory and Gary begin their task and find an English speaking local to help them with directions. Jet and Cord finally find the stall and head to do the literature task, which is also the choice of Zev and Justin who show up a little bit later.
At the art task you have Kent and Vyxsin, Ron and Christina and Jen and Kisha. There was really loud music playing which was disturbing all the teams focus especially Ron and Christian.
Flight Time finally gets the tea right leaving a distraught Luke all by himself. He breaks down claiming it is too hard. Margie convinces Luke to keep going and he gets it right. All of those involved in helping with the task applaud Luke.
Back at the detours Mallory and her dad are the first to complete their task of literature. They are given a clue, which guides them to the Fountain of Joy, which just so happens to be the next pit stop, woohoo! The teams at the art task are still painting away while Jet and Cord look for the literature task, Zev and Justin find it and make their way to the school. Jet and Cord finally find the store and are headed to the school as well.
Flight Time and Big Easy choose to do the art task and arrive just after Kent and Vyxsin, Jen and Kisha and Ron and Christina, in that order, have completed the task and are on their way to the pit stop. Margie and Luke also decide to do the art task.
Zev and Justin complete their task and head for the fountain, soon followed by Jett and Cord. All teams except Flight Time and Big Easy and Margei and Luke are headed for the pit stop. However it is Gary and Mallory who hit the mat first, they won $20,000, along with an Indian feast with a Bollywood inspired dance to entertain them. All sponsored by Snapple, which was clearing a sponsor of the show for night.
The traffic is crazy leaving all the teams very intense as they make their way to the pit stop. Luke and Margie arrive at the art task. Flight Time and Big Easy are about to finish when Flight Time accidentally dumps over some paint on to their statue and they have to redo part of it.
Jet and Cord, Ron and Christina and Zev and Justin are literally in a race to the mat but it is cowboys that prevails as team two, Ron and Christina are team three and Zev and Justin team four. Right behind them were Kent and Vyxsin as team number five to hit the mat.
Back at the art task the Globetrotters fix their mistake in what seems like no team and head out. Flight Time stops to hug Margie and Luke out of respect for Luke not giving up at the tea task, it was really sweet.
Kisha and Jen are team six to arrive at the mat. Flight Time and Big Easy are team number seven much to the happiness of the boys. After completing the art task Luke and Margie are the last team to arrive and hear the dreaded words from Phil ?You are the last team to arrive and I am sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the race.?
