Like many soap stars before her, former Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson journeyed to Hollywood in the hope of finding a career on the big screen.
After landing a role in U.S. horror sequel Boogeyman 3, the 24-year-old was no doubt hoping it would prove her big break.
But after the film went straight to DVD, it seems Nikki, who played gobby teen Candice in Corrie, may have to wait a bit longer to make it in America.
Screamfest: A naked Nikki Sanderson screams with horror after the Boogeyman interrupts her bath in Boogeyman 3
Used to posing in her lingerie for tabloids and lads' mags, Nikki is no stranger to stripping off and has a nude scene in the gory movie.
In the film, Nikki plays an American college student Audrey, whose father Doctor Allen died in the previous movie Boogeyman 2.
Upon reading her father's diary, Audrey realises the fable of the Boogeyman - a mythical monster who plays on people's fears to scare them - may actually be true.
Dr Allen's theory claimed his patients' belief in the Boogeyman itself could actually make the creature become real.
A hysterical Audrey arrives crying at the dorm room door of her friend Sarah (Erin Cahill) and asks to stay the night.
Before they know it, word of the Boogeyman has spread across campus and one by one, people's fear of the monster becomes reality as students start dying.
Calm before the storm: Audrey relaxes in the bath shortly before her pampering session is interrupted
Nikki's character Audrey is reading her father's diary in the bath when she is disturbed by an unwanted intruder.
After jumping out of the bath, Audrey confronts the Boogeyman in her bedroom, but soon meets a grisly end.
Her naked, lifeless body is found in the bath by her roommate, prompting speculation she may have killed herself.
It is left to Audrey's friend Sarah to try to save the rest of the students from the Boogeyman.
The film, directed by Gary Jones, is set for release on DVD in America next month, with no UK release date yet confirmed.
Blackpool-born Nikki leaped to fame in 1999 playing Sarah Louise Platt's (Tina O'Brien) best friend Candice Stowe, who was deemed a bad influence by Sarah's mother Gail (Helen Worth).
In 2005, Nikki left the Weatherfield cobbles and soon became a pin-up thanks to her sexy photoshoots for tabloid newspapers and lads' magazines, including posing on the covers of FHM, Loaded and Maxim magazine.
As well as acting, Nikki flirted with presenting, including hosting CD:UK and Ministry of Mayhem.
Earlier this year, Nikki joined the cast of Heartbeat, playing dizzy barmaid Dawn.
