Not letting the rainy weather get in her way, Beyonce Knowles got down to work during her New Jersey photo shoot on Thursday afternoon (March 31)

Joined by a handful of fellow models, the "If I were a Boy" singer was nearly unrecognizable with her super-blond do, blue eye shadow, plum lips, and seriously 70s garb.

Aside from her Jersey photo shoot efforts, the 29-year-old superstar has chosen Dave Taylor, also known by his DJ name Switch, as one of the top producers on her new record.

Switch has worked on a number of tunes for the Glastonbury headliner, who says she wants to re-invent herself with her fourth album.

SUPERBUG turns humans into zombies OMFG

A new superbug is devouring patients in the US and Israel according to a report by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The study claims that 350 people have died as a result of the drug-resistant bacteria (akin to MRSA which has been tearing up hospitals in the UK for years).

�

My biggest problem with the study is that it doesn?t indicate what length of time the observations were carried out over, so the figure of 350 deaths is a little misleading. At least it doesn?t mention zombies staggering about eating people?s faces in a bid to feel better about their own, rotting shortcomings. And thank god; who wants to see them shuffling about, moaning and oozing, knocking things over and generally ruining the neighbourhood like a bunch of smelly American Idol fans? Not me for sure.

Sorry to disappoint all the Romero and Resident Evil fans out there.

So what is this superbug anyway? Well, it?s technical name is Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE (thank GOD I don?t have to write that again)) and it is a form of micro-bacteria that is immune to drug treatments and most anti-bacterial agents making it incredibly dangerous to patients with prolonged or chronic illness, as well as those with invasive devices such as catheters.

�

Finding information in simple terms about CRE has proved incredibly difficult and the only literature available seems to be high level medical journals and theses. The CDC website has a section on CRE but nowhere does it actually say where the bug came from or how it suddenly became such a problem.

�

Hold on zombie fans, you could be in luck yet because here?s where we get to explore some ideas.

�

Conspiracy theorists (nuts) would probably like to imagine that the bug is man-made and is part of the huge population cull that secret world leaders have been threatening for centuries. Of course they haven?t done it yet because their ?Evil Villain? patter isn?t quite up to scratch or they haven?t got the world?s attention, despite some ?news? outlets claiming that the New World Order does all its business right out in the open.

�

I won?t hold my breath waiting for the great cull to happen as speculation is about as valid as a research article that doesn?t give a time scale.

�

So what else could it be?

�

According to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Enterobacteriaceae is a commonly found family of bacteria which lives in soil and water. CRE describes strains that have become resistant to antibiotics (in much the same way that rats have become immune to certain poisons) and because they are found in hospitals they have become a major health concern.

�

VDH state that it is treatable but patients in intensive care are probably at the greatest risk of death as a result of the bacteria finding its way into the body. Due to the small number of antibiotics that can effectively deal with CRE it is hard to stem its potency.

�

The bacteria can spread from patient to patient via skin contact, for instance on the hands of care workers or nurses; and hospitals take special care to ensure any instances of outbreaks are isolated as quickly as possible.

�

CRE has been attributed to pneumonia, bladder, bloodstream and kidney infections.

�

Ok so that puts the zombie-retro-virus theory out of the picture. Sorry conspiracy theorists; better luck next time.

Farley Granger passes away aged 85

America is today grieving the loss of Farley Granger, the 85 year-old actor who plied his trade in several Alfred Hitchcock films including Rope and Strangers on a Train.

News of his death at his Manhattan home has only just been made public but the veteran movie star passed away due to natural causes on Sunday night according to a statement released by the New York City medical examiner?s office.

Farley Granger passed away on Sunday night aged 85

Granger was born in San Jose and fell into acting during his teens. His first major film role came along in 1943?s The North Star, after he responded to an advert in a local paper. Of his first big screen adventure he said, ?I thought that was a really dumb story; the truth is much more interesting.?

�

That role put Granger on the map and he followed that performance with Purple Heart, a 20^th Century Fox production. After the film was finished Granger signed up for the US Navy but his military career was short lived as he suffered chronic seasickness on his maiden voyage and was consigned to land based duties thereafter.

�

In 1947 he got his biggest break when he was spotted by Alfred Hitchcock while working on Nicholas Ray?s film noir Thieves Like Us. The film was shelved for two years after an RKO Pictures takeover but its release in 1949 was a great success.

�

Hitchcock cast Granger in Rope which was filmed over a 21 day period. The 1948 film received mixed reviews but one thing every reviewer agreed on was the quality of Granger?s acting. His private life was called into question after his portrayal of a homosexual character in that film and during that era the idea of same sex relationships were unthinkable.

�

Granger went on to appear in 42 films and his career continued into his late 70?s, swapping big screen for the stage along the way, although with less critical success than his halcyon days.

Enrique Iglesias Dumped Britney?s Tour For Ego

It?s no secret that he has a high opinion of himself, and Enrique Iglesias backed out of his opening spot on Britney Spears' tour for reasons of ego.

According to TMZ, the ?Hero? crooner just couldn?t handle the thought of being Brit Brit?s opening act so he pulled the plug.

Prior to the announcement, Britney and Enrique?s respective camps had ironed out a deal to make things appear that they were co-headliners.

The contract contained ?great terms and great placement? for Iglesias, but in the end he couldn?t wrap his mind around the fact that he?d be playing first.

Teen Wolf Re-make or Twilight Rip Off?

Am I the only one who wasn?t aware about MTV remaking the classic (and I do mean classic) 1985 Michael J. Fox flick, Teen Wolf?� It took a minute to wrap my head around this, but I quickly came to the realization that it was only a matter of time before someone jumped on this ? it?s not like we?ve been living under a canopy of Vampires or Werewolves already?.�

So, first things first.� The new series, which premiers June 5^th after the MTV Movie Awards, stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall ? a shape shifting young teen who falls for the new girl in town played by Crystal Reed.� Let us not forget to mention she bears an uncanny resemblance to Kristen Stewart.� Just putting it out there.�

After watching the trailer, it?s clear that although the series takes the name of one of my favorite films of all time, there is little in common with the original cult movie aside from the fact that our main guy is a werewolf.� Why then is it pegged a ?remake??� Fans expecting to see similarities are sure to be disappointed.� With that being said, it?s clear MTV is determined to update the classic, giving it more of a darker and intense spin, particularly into the realm of horror romance ? not overly seen in the original.

In staying positive, I?m definitely going to give this a shot.� Fans should be open minded ? really open minded ? our main guy plays LACROSSE!�� This, I can potentially forgive.� The jury is still out.

My underworld obsession is no secret, and I?m prepared for a little wolf action mixed with a little romance.� If I have to wait until November for some Edward and Bella screen time, let?s hope this new show does not disappoint!!�� But if they bring vampires into the mix of Teen Wolf, that might just be going a bit too far.�� Check out the trailer and see for yourself, what are your thoughts?�

Jessica White puts cocaine OD behind her and looks to a bright future

Jessica White may not always have been the archetypal good girl, with a cocaine OD and a pending assault charge on her record, but despite those issues she?s counting her blessings and looking at life in a positive way.

Her current list of plus points includes a starring role in the video for Kelly Rowland?s latest musical offering, the upcoming launch of her skincare line, a docu-series which she?s currently filming for Oxygen, and her proudest venture, The Angel Foundation, a women?s philanthropic organization.

Right now she?s happy with the way her life is going, ?I?m living out every girl?s dream,? says the former model.

The trial for the alleged assault still looms large over her and opening statements are penned for May, but the 26 year-old former model is stoic about her involvement in the altercation.

?I never denied getting into an altercation,? says White. ?But people painted me to be the bad girl, which was 110 percent false.?

She maintains it was an act of self-defence. ?I was flagging a cab, and she came from behind me and pushed me.?

She refutes claims that she started the fight and has video evidence to corroborate her side of the story. ?I didn?t strike her until she hit me in the face. I don?t lash out at innocent people.?

White also says that the incident was not a backlash from her split with Sean Penn and that she in fact abhors violence in all its forms. Having been the victim and witness of abusive relationships stretching back to her childhood she prefers to live a peaceful, harmonious life.

At the age of 14 she was subjected to molestation by a family member, and not only did she have to deal with the hurt and shame alone but was left scarred by the incident.

?I had to go through the hurt secretly,? she said on the matter. ?I look at modelling as a saviour, because [it allowed me] to leave and travel to Paris and New York when I could finally relax and be out of the abusive environment.?

Although Paris seemed like the ideal place to start over she quickly became lonely and desperate which by the age of 17 led her to an even more destructive relationship with cocaine.

By the age of 20 she had overdosed but the harsh reality of drug addiction helped her see the truth of things and through that experience she was able to move on.

?I was going to lose everything,? she offered. ?[I saw my] whole life flash before me. But I was lucky, because I came face to face with evil, and it wasn?t something I liked seeing.?

Her story took a much more positive turn after a few months recuperation and she worked hard to mend the bridges she felt she?d burned through overuse of cocaine. She turned to her mother for help and now, free of drugs, sees her as her best friend.

?I truly am living out what true joy and happiness means, I?m in the best place possible.?

Foxy Brown Kicked Off Cruise Over Her Nails

Foxy Brown should be banned from every single nail salon in the world, or if you work at a nail salon and she books in then you should take the day off because she has once again got herself in trouble over her nails. This time she found herself getting kicked off Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

Foxy, who performed on the ship the night before the incident, was booked in for a nail apointment in a salon on the ship but she decided to show up three hours late and when she was told they couldn?t fit her in she went into a complete rage. Workers in the salon called security and they arrived immediatly then threw her ass in a holding cell.

When the ship arrived at the Cayman Islands two days later they threw her off the ship straight away and she was then escorted to a local airport and her ass was put straight on an airplane home.

As I?m sure you know this isn?t the first time Foxy has landed herself in hot water over her nails, back in 2004 she beat the hell out of two salon employees and then again in 2007 she beat up another worker. So like I said if you work at a nail salon and someone under the name of Foxy Brown books in then either hang up the phone or book the day off because she will most likely try to attack you.
